About ACTU
The Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at the Federal Ministry of Finance
was established pursuant to a directive from the Head of Service of the Federation
mandating the establishment of "autonomous" anti-corruption units in all federal
ministries, extra-ministerial offices, and parastatals. |

How To Report?
When presenting an allegation, please provide as much information and details and
evidence as possible relating to the: who, what, when, where and how of the allegation
e.g.
Who do you think committted thr corruption or fraud?
When did it happen?
If possible provide dates, time, and how many times the act has occured.
Where did it happen? Include not only the city & country, but, if possible,
an actual address, the name of the building, the office number.
How does your allegation relate to the Ministry?.
Staff/departments involved.
How much money is involved?

ACTU's Objectives
The ACTU maintains the following objectives.
1, Instituting remedial measures to investigate and sanction
activities involving fraud and corruption.
2, Establishing an enabling environment for anti-corruption
activities.
3, Introducing preventive measures aimed at fostering an
environment in which instances of fraud and corruption are reduced.

FeedBack
Complainants who report report corrupt practices and provide either ACTU members
or Hotline staff with their contact details will be updated as necessary on the
progress of investigation into their allegation.

ACTU's Mandate
In accordance with the Head of Service directive, the ACTU is empowered to carry
out all duties (excluding powers of prosecution) listed in s.6(a)-(f) of the Independent
Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission(ICPC) Act 2000. These powers
include the ability to conduct preliminary investigations into allegations of corrupt
acts within the Ministry.

Confidentiality
ALL allegations and information relating to corrupt practices including details
of the complainant and the alleged suspect(s) is considered confidential. ACTU members
and Hotline staff adhere to strict policy and procedure in order to protect the
confidentiality of all matters received.

How ACTU receives allegations
Ministry personel, contractors, suppliers, consultants and the general public can
report instances of suspected fraud and corruption through; ACTU complaint boxes,
letters, email (actu@fmf.gov.ng), visiting the ACTU office and filling of the ACTU
form below |

Anonymous Complaints
The ACTU encourages all complainants to provide their contact details (email and
/or telephone numbers). This will enable us to provide feedback and obtain any additional
information that may assist with the investigation. The ACTU does however accept
allegations from those who wish to remain anonymous or who provide no contact details
whatsoever. These allegations shall be handled in the same manner as all other
allegations and confidentiality is guaranteed.
